In his online bio, Dr. Cadegiani claims to be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
I checked the with American Board of Internal Medicine and the there is no record of a Dr. Cadegiani being certified in internal medicine.
I then checked the American Board of Medical Specialities and there is no record of Dr. Cadegiani being certified in endocrinology.
Dr. Cadegiani is board certified in Brazil in endocrinology but there is still a problem. He is not fellowship trained and board certified in infectious diseases. That is a prerequisite for infectios disease research and requires a three year ID fellowship. The third year of that training is devoted to understanding how to do infectious disease research. ID studies are unique with very specialized methodolgy and statistcal requirements. An endocrinologist, even a board certified one, will not have the training to know how to design, execute and interpret an infectious disease study. They can do endocrine studies which are entirely different in their design and methodology.
So as wonderful as Dr. Cadegiani may be, he is not qualified in infectious diseases. Maybe that’s why his paper was so flawed and had to be retracted?
I'd say it's because you can't spell, which you've amply demonstrated.
